Homelessness in the UK is something many of us see everyday, yet somehow, those experiencing it can become invisible.

We walk past people sleeping on streets, sitting outside shops or asking for help. We may wonder how they got there, but rarely do we know the story behind the person we see. Before homelessness, there was a life: a home, relationships, hopes, disappointments, jobs, families and dreams.

Homelessness is rarely caused by one simple thing. Rising housing costs, relationship breakdown, unemployment, poverty, domestic abuse, poor mental health and other circumstances can all play a part. Behind every statistic is an individual with a story that deserves to be heard.

My new song, Nobody Sees, is about that hidden story. It asks us to look beyond the pavement and recognise the person rather than simply the situation.

The song is not intended to provide easy answers. Instead, it is a reminder that everyone has a story, and that sometimes the greatest thing we can offer someone is to see them, listen to them and remember that they matter.

In my small way, I hope I have reminded people to see and hear.
